Sheriff's deputy accused of sexual misconduct at West Valley detention center

I'm not much one for sexual shaming, or for hating on people getting theirs, but there are rules about this sort of thing and at the very least, we should be able to expect that public officials adhere to those rules and standards of conduct. Here's the press release:

VICTIM: CONFIDENTIAL, 19 YEAR OLD MALE – INMATE AT WEST VALLEY DETENTION CENTER
SUSPECT: KATINA M. CARTER, 38 YEARS OLD – SAN BERNARDINO CO. SHERIFF’S DEPUTY

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, Sheriff’s Specialized Investigators were assigned to conduct an investigation at the West Valley Detention Center.

Recently, jail staff became concerned about frequent interaction between a female deputy and a male inmate. Investigators received information that solidified the concern and served a search warrant at Katina Carter’s residence. At the conclusion of the search warrant, Carter was taken into custody and booked for PC289.6(a)(2) - An employee or officer of a public entity detention facility, or an employee…who engages in sexual activity with a consenting adult who is confined in a detention facility.
Katina Carter was released from custody on a bail bond on Friday, October 5, 2012. She is currently on paid administrative leave.
